In recent years, we’ve welcomed a growing community of long-term residents who have chosen Alder Bay as their year-round home, embracing the slower pace and laid-back lifestyle that make the North Island so special .

Just 15 minutes from the town of Port McNeill on a paved road, Alder Bay offers convenient access to essential amenities, including a hospital, post office, grocery stores, restaurants, a theatre, and local shops—all with small-town charm and friendly service.

The Alder Bay Lifestyle

Imagine waking up just steps from the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by stunning views and incredible wildlife. Each year, over 100 humpback whales return to feed in the nutrient-rich waters of Johnstone Strait, joined by resident and transient orcas, sea otters, sea lions, dolphins, and porpoises. During the spring, summer, and fall, wildlife sightings are frequent, and many can be enjoyed right from the shore at Alder Bay.

For those who love fishing and seafood harvesting, the area offers an unparalleled experience with prawns, crab, and salmon just a short boat ride away. Our 43-slip marina makes it easy to catch the morning tide and return in time for lunch at Roxy’s Diner, all while soaking in some of the best sunset views you’ll find anywhere.

Long-Term RV Sites

We offer a limited number of long-term RV pads for those looking to make Alder Bay their home. Our sites include:

30-amp electrical service
Clean, regularly tested water (Vancouver Island Health Authority approved)
State-of-the-art sanitary hook-up
Garbage disposal & recycling center
On-site laundromat
On-site propane sales & delivery
24/7 on-site park management
Seasonal food truck (Roxy’s Diner)
Access to our 43-slip marina & boat ramp

Pricing & Availability

Our long-term RV site rates are based on location and range in price from $750 to $800/month + GST

We offer minimum 6-month agreements, with preference given to those committing to a full year.
